East Providence Lanes

Cornhole meets Bowling in our new league!

CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST

Welcome to the East Providence Lanes Cornhole League! Our seven-week league is the latest cornhole crossover as we'll be tossing bags and not balls on the lanes! This is a Bring Your Own Partner (BYOP), two-person team league beginning May 3rd. Each Tuesday, teams compete in a randomly-seeded, double-elimination tournament; bags fly at 7 PM. See below for the particular format of each week. Points will be awarded based on where a team finishes and standings will be maintained on the Boston Cornhole website. Championship night will be a standings-based, seeded double-elimination tournament. Gift cards totaling $100 will be awarded to the top teams each night during the season and there will be a $400 purse on championship night! Registration is $125 per team and all teams must be registered by the Monday prior to the start of the league. Please register via PayPal below. A minimum of 12 teams is required to hold the league. Please address any questions to bostoncornhole@gmail.com

Week 1: Opening Night - May 3, 2016 @ 7 PM

Let's get things started with a meet and greet! We'll go over the rules, answer any questions, and of course, pitch some bags. Our virgin tournament will be a randomly-seeded, double-elimination contest.

Week 1 Winner:

Week 2: Last Man Standing - May 10, 2016 @ 7 PM

Just as in the first week, the double-elimination tournament will be randomly-seeded. Prior to the tournament, we will warm up with a Last Man Standing contest. The Last Man Standing winner earns an additional five points for his or her team!

Week 2 Winner:

Last Man Standing Winner:

Week 3: Singles Night - May 17, 2016 @ 7 PM

This may not be what you think! On the third night, one member of each team will play in Singles Pool A and the other will play in Singles Pool B. Each pool is a separate, randomly seeded, double-elimination tournament. Points will be awarded in each bracket making this a double points night!

Week 3 Singles Pool A Winner:

Week 3 Singles Pool B Winner:

Week 4: Skinny Board Challenge - May 24, 2016 @ 7 PM

In the fourth week, we are back to the two-person team, randomly-seeded, double-elimination tournament. In the background, players will be able to toss the "pool-numbered bags" at the skinny board. The score is calculated by summing the face value of the bags that are put in the hole in a single round. The competitor with the highest scoring round earns five points for his or her team! Players will have unlimited chances to achieve the highest round; the Skinny Board Challenge will close just prior to the finals of the tournament. If we have a tie, a sudden-death playoff will determine the winner.

Week 4 Winner:

Skinny Board Challenge Winner:

Week 5: Blind Draw - May 31, 2016 @ 7 PM

Didn't we say that this was a BYOP league!? Ok, we lied, but just a little bit. By this time, you may be sick of your partner anyway, so here is your chance to mingle! On the fifth night, the tournament format switches to a blind draw for partners (it is possible to draw your league partner). Based on finishing position, points will be awarded to each partner's league team making this another double points night!

Week 5 Winner:

Week 6: Airmail Challenge - June 7, 2016 @ 7 PM

Get your game face on for the dress rehearsal, randomly-seeded, double-elimination tournament. In the background, players will be able to toss the "pool-numbered bags" at the airmail box. The score is calculated by summing the face value of the bags that are put in the hole in a single round. The competitor with the highest scoring round earns five points for his or her team! Players will have unlimited chances to achieve the highest round; the Airmail Challenge will close just prior to the finals of the tournament. If we have a tie, a sudden-death playoff will determine the winner.

Week 6 Winner:

Airmail Challenge Winner:

Week 7: The Championship - June 14, 2016 @ 7 PM

This one is for all the marbles! The league culminates with a final, seeded (based on league standings) double-elimination tournament. Let the coronation begin...
