Contenders or Pretenders for T4T on 12/14?
What's "the skinny" on cornhole last night at Great American Tavern? Well, if you have frequented our Tuesday night events, you know that I am not talking about our regulars. I am referring to the debut of Skinny Boards provided last night by McKinnon Cornhole Boards for the "Money Shot"! Fittingly, Justin's name was drawn, but in putting a goose egg up, he was unable to take advantage of pitching on his own equipment. Up until now, I have been hesitant to take the NRA card carrying board builder to task on the blog, but based on his aim in the Money Shot, I don't think a jab here or there puts my safety in the slightest bit of danger! Seriously, a big thanks to Justin McKinnon who has been a strong Boston Cornhole ally in 2013.
On to tournament play, let's give credit to Rob and Mike Doherty who made it two wins in as many weeks with an undefeated run and finals victory over "Wreck it Ralph" PJ and Barry. Since the summer, strong showings have become routine for this duo and they proved that they can get some victories without Justin Knowlton and Joe Schroeder around to choke big leads. Will the Dirty Dots be a factor in the Toys for Tots Tournament on December 14th? I'm skeptical, but I know that they would love to prove me wrong. In the blind draw tourney, it was the tag team of Brownie and "Wreck it Ralph PJ" outlasting Moynihan and Barry.
Last Man Standing came down to Barry and Brownie, who both have had success in this singles event in the past. On this night, Brownie was unable to "find the keys" to victory making it a successful return to Tuesday Night Cornhole for Barry after a lengthy absence. Congrats to Barry; it was sort of nice to see you again!
Heading in to December, let's wrap up a great year of cornhole with a few more fun Tuesday Nights at Great American Tavern! As always, I am extremely grateful to all who choose to spend some time pitching bags with us!
