40 Plus gets it done in Woburn once again!
It was another great day for the Tanner Ta Ta Foundation and cornhole yesterday in Woburn as more than 50 teams battled it out over the course of five hours. In the end, it was the local favorites, 40 Plus, made up of Rich Queen and Randy Parker taking the title. But, there was a bump in the road as they dropped a semifinal match in the winner's bracket to the runner-ups, Mike Doherty and Rob Doherty. The semifinal was certainly an upset, but not a complete surprise as I have seen the Dirty Dots duo improve on a weekly basis on Tuesdays in North Reading. After overcoming an early deficit in the loser's bracket final, 40 Plus rode some hot hands and momentum for a quick double dip victory to close out the evening. Rounding out the top three was the South Shore Cornhole and Boston Cornhole tandem of Jeff Bachand and Mike Rielly; their only losses coming against the top two teams.
While there is only room for three on the podium, there were many other very good teams competing on Saturday. Year after year, that seems to be the trend. The state of cornhole continues to get better and better in the Boston area!
