Eighteen months or so ago, picking the winner of a competitive tournament was much easier than it is today.  Today, there's no clear cut favorite which made finding a 2019 Team of Year a very tough task.  But, if you look at the results, especially recently, several winners seem to be coming out of the Woohole stables.  Garret Koziak, Tony Smith, Bill Butler, Jim Bottis (when he's not wearing his Boston Cornhole shirt), the Matthews combo, and of course Tornado seem to hit paydirt often and in several different combinations.  Couple that with a winning effort at Turf War, New England's largest tournament, and Woohole is your 2019 Boston Cornhole Team of the Year!

An Unbelievable Dedication to Cornhole

How can Woohole have created so many winners in eight months when groups that have been around for years don't have similar success?  Easy, they are about cornhole all the time.  It's not a once a week thing for Chris and Carrie, nor for the majority that play with them.  Whenever and wherever Woohole can hold a tournament, they do.  Thus, good players are playing against good players and becoming great players.  I wish I could play more Woohole events, but these nights tend to be long nights and my beauty sleep is a little more important these days than my cornhole game.  If you play Woohole, then you are already familiar with the experience.  If you haven't, then you should definitely check them out!

Honorable Mention

This year's Honorable Mention goes to the kings of 3rd Ave, Jim Nocella and Tom Halloran.  You may not see this Doghouse duo on the prowl every weekend, but they are a force to be reckoned with.  Congrats to Jim and Tom on a great year!
